Good overall study. A bit on the basic level. Our group was hoping for something indepth more than this offers, but for the average Bible study or group it works. The back "answers" guide section was not up to par with what I look for as a leader. Some nice insights. Some seems more opinion than scriptually based (would have been nice if they had backed it with reference verses), and they do not cover all questions. Sometimes, it seems that the "answers" guide has little or nothing to do with the question. That was quite frustrating.
I bought this book for every member of a Bible class that I am teaching, for women new to the Christian faith. They wanted to study the Scriptures but were intimidated by going through them alone. This study was more than I can ask for. It asks thoughtful questions that cause one to pause and consider the Scripture before moving on. It even has a leader's guide in the back of the book. For the price and the content, this book is great. Don't expect long expositions on the passages, just catalyst questions that make the reader apply the meaning of the Word to everyday life. Great for discussion oriented small groups or personal study. Buy this book for every member of the group, because everyone needs their own personal copies. Great Job, Mr. Connelly!
Great study. In depth questions and I really appreciated the additional background information in the back. For some this has been their first bible study and was a good introduction.
Excellent study tool
I BOUGHT THIS BOOK FOR A CLASS IN MY MEN'S GROUP AT CHURCH. IT STATED THAT IT WAS USED AND MIGHT HAVE SOME WRITING IN IT. THAT WAS OK WITH ME I THOUGHT MAYBE I COULD GET SOMEONE ELSE'S PERSPECTIVE AND LEARN FROM IT. WELL WHEN I RECEIVED MY BOOK IT IS JUST LIKE NEW WITHOUT A SINGLE MARK OR EVEN PAGE CREASE. VERY GOOD BUY AS USUAL WITH AMAZON. SO FAR ANYWAY ?.
A good guided bible study of John
This is a very approachable and yet challenging Bible study guide. I am using it in a small group I attend. I have a lot of experience with Inter-Varsity Press materials, and, once again, I am very pleased with their material. I recommend this study guide for people who are new to studying the Bible all the way up to believers-of-decades. There is always something new to learn if we are open to the Holy Spirit's teaching.
I have used Lifeguide Bible Studies for about 10 years now. They are excellent tools for group bible studies and they have a broad selection.
